LSAT 110 | Section 4 | Reading Comprehension: Q17

LSAT Preptest 110 explanations

RC Question 17 Explanation

DISCUSSION: The trick is that the author is not Meyerson. The author of the passage describes Meyerson’s arguments. We don’t know why they’re telling us all this about Meyerson.

___________

  1. Which divergent doctrines? Only one is mentioned: CLS. We don’t know if Meyerson has a doctrine.
  2. We’re not told any background. We don’t know why Meyerson disagrees with CLS.
  3. We don’t know if Meyerson’s interpretation is new. Maybe she copied it from someone else.
  4. CORRECT. The passage is just a description of Meyerson’s attack against CLS.
  5. There are no specific scholars mentioned. Maybe most proponents of CLS are lawyers, not scholars. The word scholar is only mentioned once, on line 50.
