LSAT 115 | Section 1 | Reading Comprehension: Q3

LSAT Preptest 115 explanations

RC Question 3 Explanation

DISCUSSION: For this question, you should read a bit above line 38, and then down to the end of the paragraph.

The author likes designed offal. It’s not perfect, but it uses less energy and creates less waste. It’s given as an example of a process that could help move us towards an industrial ecosystem.

___________

  1. Lines 44-45 say designed offal is less wasteful than current processes. That sounds good.
  2. The author doesn’t say anything like this. Look all you want in lines 37-45, you won’t find it.
  3. The author probably thinks it’s a temporary solution, as there is still waste produced. But designed offal is a step in the right direction, so it could help create an industrial ecosystem. Why else would the author have mentioned it as an example?
  4. CORRECT. Designed offal is good for now, and hopefully we’ll have even better processes that produce less waste.
  5. Hard to say. The author doesn’t compare designed offal to any other solutions. It’s just given as an example of a process that moves us in the direction of an industrial ecosystem.
