LSAT 108 | Section 1 | Reading Comprehension: Q2

LSAT Preptest 108 explanations

RC Question 2 Explanation

DISCUSSION: Lines 5-7 makes the only comparison between the psychoanalytical and political aspects of Kahlo’s paintings.

We’ve studied her paintings psychoanalytically, but we haven’t studied their political aspects.

Lines 33-36 are also interesting: they show that Aztec symbols were both personally and politically important for Kahlo.

___________

  1. The author never says this. It’s quite possible to both be a Mexican nationalist and to have a bad marriage.
  2. CORRECT. See lines 33-36. The author thinks that Aztec symbols were important both personally and politically for Kahlo.

And the author never says that political interpretations conflict with personal interpretations of Kahlo’s paintings.
  3. The author never says anything like this. They only say that there haven’t been many political interpretations.
  4. The author never said that political interpretations didn’t use Kahlo’s biography.
  5. This refers to lines 58-60. It’s not clear why Kahlo is mythical, but it seems to have been for political reasons.
