LSAT Preptest 108 explanations

RC Question 6 Explanation

DISCUSSION: The third paragraph starts by describing how Kahlo used Aztec symbols in her paintings.

The second half uses a single painting to give an example of how Kahlo used Aztec symbols.

___________

  1. Nope. First the author describes a general idea, then he gives us one painting as a representative sample. These are complementary ideas.
  2. Same as A.
  3. The description of Kahlo’s painting isn’t a theme, it’s just an example.
  4. This answer describes something different. Here’s an example: I explain (to an alien) the principle that the sun will set later in the day. The implication of this theory is that the world will be covered in darkness, until the sun rises again.
  5. CORRECT. The author makes a general statement about all of Kahlo’s paintings, then he describes one painting to support his point.
