DISCUSSION: The first paragraph explains Lowe’s method. The second paragraph explains his results. The third paragraph mentions a possible flaw.
This question type occurs occasionally. Each new idea in the answer choices refers to a paragraph.
There are many ways to disprove the wrong answers. I’ve given one sufficient reason to disprove each, but there are many other flaws.

- The third paragraph contains a criticism, not a conclusion.
- The third paragraph criticizes the hypothesis. It doesn’t affirm it.
- The second paragraph explains the theory. It doesn’t present contradictory evidence.
- CORRECT. This matches the structure. Monuments are the basis. The second paragraph describes Lowe’s explanation of the collapse. The flaw is that new evidence might disprove the theory.
- There are no contradictions in the evidence. The only possible flaw is that future evidence might contradict the theory.
