LSAT 102 | Section 1 | Reading Comprehension: Q20

LSAT Preptest 102 explanations

RC Question 20 Explanation

DISCUSSION: The author never defines intertribalism. But all the examples describe activities that involve multiple tribes.

(“Inter” means “between”)

So the right answer should be a cultural activity that connects multiple tribes.

All the wrong answers just describe a single tribe that has nothing to do with other tribes.

___________

  1. The author thinks that tribal dances can co-exist with intertribalism. It’s not inter-tribal to squash tribal culture.

Also, this only involves one tribe.
  2. CORRECT. It’s true that only one tribe is mentioned, but this tribe is learning to communicate with other tribes. That connection between tribes is enough to make this an intertribal activity.
  3. The author never mentions politics. And this only involves one tribe.
  4. This only involves one tribe. And intertribalism is a force which prevents assimilation (lines 55-58).
  5. This is just one tribe. Intertribalism occurs between tribes.
