- We know the scientists think that it’s possible to learn the laws governing a system (lines 46-50). We don’t know if we have to first separate the components, or if we can determine the laws before separation.
- Scientists believe in studying a system’s parts separately, so it would be strange if they thought they could only study something by destroying it.
- We don’t know what analytic scientists think about defining characteristics. They might agree that they are important.
